The JTS of the MED Programme organizes at the Committee of the Regions in Brussels a two-half-day event on March 24th and 25th to present the capitalization experience and the 13 co-financed projects with the main aim to disseminate the results and the methods adopted to a wider European context, not limited to the Mediterranean basin (see the draft agenda annexed).
On Wednesday 25th, after the end of the joint conference, the partnership of Zerowaste-pro, including Marche Region, has decided to organize, a side event in the offices of the Marche Region Delegation, Rond Point Schuman 14 (7th floor) B - 1040 Bruxelles, on Zerowaste and Circular economy, strategies, tools and future prospective, an occasion to get more visibility at the results achieved by the projects, EU institutions and networks.
The technical activities of project Zerowaste-pro, MED CAPITALIZATION 2007 - 2013, began in July 2013 and ended in December 2014. It was aimed to capitalize and promote methods and tools to improve the sustainable waste management and outcomes of the projects and to disseminate products of MED and other EU-funded projects, with particular reference to good practices of sustainable management of solid waste, prevention, preparation for re-use and recycling.
The 11 project partners from 8 European countries, have directed their attention to the instructions issued by the hierarchy of waste, as defined in the 'Article 4 of the EC Directive 2008/98 / EC. Commission's proposal to review the waste targets has been withdrawn and the Commission is now working on a new proposal on circular economy which should cover not only waste but also the other part of the circle.
The communication strategy of the project is to promote maximum results and increase the application of the tools produced through the involvement of representatives of the European institutions, and of the main European organizations working in the field of sustainable waste management. The partners of the project ZeroWaste Pro, intend to bring the topics, outcomes and objectives of the project at the round table discussion led by experts of international level, with the aim of aligning the past results to future prospects.
